Based on research in informal urban settlements and on professional experience as a trainer, a colleague and an academic, I believe that access to secure housing is a crucial pre-condition to overcoming poverty and misery of the urban poor. A safe place to live is essential to protecting human dignity and secure housing entitles its residents to public services, information and legal protection.
I hold Master degree in Geography and International Development Studies of the Department of Development Studies, Palacký University in Olomouc in the Czech Republic. Since 2008 I have been interested in urban issues throughout my studies and work. I have more than 12-year experience in the field of development, project management and qualitative research with emphasis on participatory processes and community development. My previous and recent research particularly focuses on informality, affordable housing and social inclusion. I have published several publications of my work done in India or Colombia. Since 2013 I have been working and living in Colombia.
As urban poverty analysis and assessment has become the main focus throughout my studies, work and training, I dedicate myself to deepen my professional experience and expertise within new researches and projects in future.
